Ben Gideon & Taylor Asen Named to The Best Lawyers in America®: 2027

Gideon Asen is proud to announce that Ben Gideon and Taylor Asen have been recognized in the 2027 edition of The Best Lawyers in America®. In addition, Meryl Poulin, Trevor Savage, and Rosie Wennberg have been recognized in the 2027 edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America, which highlights attorneys earlier in their careers who have earned strong recognition from their professional peers.

Unlike many legal awards, Best Lawyers says its recognitions are based entirely on peer review. The organization describes its methodology as “Purely Peer Review®,” designed to measure the consensus opinion of leading attorneys regarding the professional abilities of other lawyers practicing in the same geographic region and area of law.

The process begins with a nomination. Candidates are then evaluated through confidential peer voting. For the traditional Best Lawyers in America recognition, attorneys who are already recognized by Best Lawyers provide feedback on nominees in relevant practice areas and geographic markets. Lawyers are not permitted to vote for themselves. Best Lawyers then analyzes the peer feedback, confirms that candidates are in good standing with their local bar associations, and publishes the final results.

The Ones to Watch process follows the same peer-review foundation but is designed specifically to recognize outstanding lawyers earlier in private practice. Best Lawyers currently identifies eligible U.S. candidates generally as attorneys with approximately five to nine years of private-practice experience. Candidates are evaluated by other lawyers within their practice areas and regions, with the results reviewed before eligibility and bar standing are confirmed.

The 2027 selection cycle included nominations, peer voting, evaluation of results and eligibility review before the public release on August 20, 2026.
