On June 28, 2024, our client, Michael, was riding his motorcycle through Sabattus, Maine on his way to work, when a dump truck driven by an employee of Lewiston, Maine excavation company LP Poirier & Sons suddenly pulled out into the road in front of him. The dump truck driver entered the roadway when it was not safe to do so, and occupied the entire width of the lane, Michael couldn’t avoid colliding with the dump truck. As a result of the crash, Michael suffered catastrophic injuries, including severe orthopedic injuries and a massive upper GI hemorrhage requiring a ten day stay in the intensive care unit.
