Ben Gideon with Gideon Aisen Law Firm is here with more on that. Thanks for having us today. Let's talk about that question. What is my case worth? I know you hear it a lot, but why is it difficult to give a quick answer to that? So you're right. We hear that all the time. It's what every client wants to know. And the reason it's difficult is because everybody's case is unique. And the reason for that is that every human is unique. We're all affected by even the same things in different ways. So in order to know what somebody's case is worth, you really have to understand their specific life experience and their specific story. So what are some of the key factors that go into determining the value of somebody's case? So there's four key factors in determining the value of the case. Number one is the liability issues. Because if you don't win your case, your value is zero. So number one, you have to win, so you have to have a strong case. Number two, the intensity of the harm, how bad it was. Number three is the duration. How long did whatever bad thing happened last? Is it closed ended so that you went through something that was terrible but now it's over or is it going on and become permanent for the rest of your life? And the fourth factor is the quality of the lawyer you have in your case. Well, let's talk a little bit more about timelines because how long does it take to truly determine the value of a case? So we talk about medical endpoints, which is the point at which somebody is as good as they're going to be. So they might be back to their baseline where they were before they got hurt, in which case they've had one hundred percent recovery, or they might only be fifty percent but the doctor's saying, You're not going to get any better now. You're never going to walk again. You've recovered as much as you ever will. So once we get to that endpoint, it's much easier to assign a value to the case.
